Notables featured include Sam and Elizabeth Colt, Secretary of the Navy Gideon Welles, Katharine Hepburn, discoverer of anesthesia Horace Wells, and John Pierpont Morgan.

Notable Trees Guide

Notable Trees Guide introduces visitors to Cedar Hill’s remarkable trees.

Highlights include the beautiful European Weeping Beech, the unusual (for the Northeast) Umbrella Magnolia, and the Huss Hemlock named for a resident of the cemetery.

* The thread-leaf maple pictured to the left was state champion until 2011 when part of the tree was lost in an October snowstorm.
