Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation offers several self-guided tour options including

Guide for Visitors which provides information about the cemetery’s most famous residents. Notables featured include Sam and Elizabeth Colt, Secretary of the Navy Gideon Welles, Katharine Hepburn, discoverer of anesthesia Dr. Horace Wells, and J.P. Morgan.

Guide to the Notable Trees which introduces visitors to our remarkable trees such as the beautiful European Weeping Beech, the unusual (for the Northeast) Umbrella Magnolia, and the Huss Hemlock named for a resident of  the cemetery.


Take a Self-guided Tour of Cedar Hill Using your Cell Phone!

Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation also offers Guide by Cell, a self-guided tour option where you use your cell phone to learn about Cedar Hill’s most notable residents. The brochure includes a map identifying the final resting places of some of our most notable residents and instructions for calling into the Guide by Cell system.

Brochures are available in the information box located inside Cedar Hill Cemetery’s entryway gates and in the Main Office located in the Northam Memorial Chapel, which is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. The Cemetery grounds are open daily from 7:00 am until dusk.
