Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation will present the free virtual lecture, “Lest We Forget: Infectious Diseases (1850-1918),” on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 12:00 pm.

Evelyn Bollert explores the fearsome infectious diseases that afflicted families in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The presentation is based on her informative tour of Hartford’s historic Cedar Hill Cemetery.
A graduate of the University of Connecticut and Yale University, Evelyn Bollert is an instructor of English at Goodwin University. She has worked as an editor and fact-checker for the popular press in a variety of disciplines, including health and wellness and medical research.
Evelyn has researched and led several history tours at Cedar Hill Cemetery including Lest We Forget, Civil War POWs, and What a Way to Go.
The program is in collaboration with the Hartford Medical Society. Founded in 1846, HMS has connected the past, present, and future of medicine in Connecticut for more than 170 years.
