Hours of Operation

The gate is open
Daily 7:00am to dusk


The office is open
Monday-Friday
8:00am to 4:00pm


In the event of inclement weather,
cemetery roads may be closed.

COVID-19 UPDATE

The Cemetery grounds are open to the public. Please social distance from others while on site. Cedar Hill’s office
is open to the public. Access is through the front door on Fairfield Avenue. Masks are required.

Rules & Regulations

Cedar Hill is an active cemetery. Please be respectful of cemetery services and operations. Be mindful of those visiting loved ones and respect their privacy.

Speed Limit

The speed limit is 20 MPH. Parking is permitted on roads. Please refrain from parking on the grass.

Pets are not allowed. Dogs should be kept in vehicles at all times.

Pedestrians, please be aware of passing cars and keep to the side of the road wherever possible.

Jogging Hours

Jogging is permitted only before 9:00am and after 3:00pm.

No rollerblading, skating, sledding, snowmobiling, picnicking, swimming, sunbathing, horseback riding, off-road motorcycle riding, objectionable loitering, or the use of alcoholic beverages.

Do not feed any wildlife, including ducks and geese.

No Cutting Trees

Cutting or injuring trees, shrubs, or flowers, or disturbing birds or wildlife is prohibited.

Do Not Touch Gravestones

Gravestones are fragile. For their preservation please do not touch them. Gravestone rubbing is not allowed.

Cedar Hill Cemetery is located at 453 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford, CT.

FYI, some mapping systems may direct you to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral next door to the cemetery. Cedar Hill’s entrance features stone buildings and iron gateway.

  • Merge onto CT 15 South via Exit 57

    (Charter Oak Bridge) on left

  • Take Exit 85, CT 99 South

  • Merge onto Silas Deane Highway

  • Take First Right onto Jordan Lane

    (CT 314)

  • Right onto Ridge Road

  • Stay Left to Fairfield Avenue
