Horace Wells Monument Preservation

With support from the Horace Wells Club of Connecticut, Hartford Medical and Dental Societies, Connecticut Dental Association, Aetna Foundation, and Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, Cedar Hill restored the Horace Wells’ memorial.

Howard Angel Preservation

The marble angel was soiled, marred by gypsum deposits, and exhibited minor cracks and material losses to the toes, nose, right hand, left finger, and right wing. These conditions were both visually distracting and could lead to future deterioration.

Conserve Art LLC cleaned the decorative bronze ornament on several monuments including the Civil War memorials for Joseph Hawley and Griffin Stedman.

Welles Monument Preservation

Conserve Art LLC preserved the bronze figure atop the Welles Monument in 2007. The monument features a female figure in flowing gown and holding a small wreath signifying memory. The statue, marked on the right side of the base, is by Carl Conrads, New England Granite Works’ house sculptor.
