Thank you to Monument Fund donors, corporate sponsors, and the William and Alice Mortensen Foundation for providing the funds to ensure the bronze statue remains a symbol of Hope for future generations.
Francis Miller of Conserve Art LLC will undertake the project once warm weather arrives. Treatment includes cleaning, removing loose corrosion, and repairing flaws and cracks. Localized patination, preserving the aged green appearance, will provide aesthetic and corrosion resistant benefits. A protective coating followed by paste wax to reduce sheen will complete the project.
The Foundation will document the preservation process with photographs and video. We look forward to sharing details with you through our enewsletter, social media, and website.
